PhotoRumors Leaks First Image of Panasonic G9

Photorumors leaked the first image of the Panasonic G9, while others copy and it’s an interesting change over the G85. Panasonic moved the top dial to make space for the new LCD screen and a joystick has been added.

Here are the rest of the specs that have leaked:

  • To be announced in the next 1-2 weeks, available after Christmas
  • Same photo capabilities as the GH5
  • Different video capabilities (compared to the GH5)
  • Second display on top of camera
  • Rumored price: €1,200 (around $1,400)
  • Very fast shooting rate with a large buffer (60 fps burst)
  • 80MB shooting mode – it can stitch multiple pictures (for example 6 pictures can produce 1GB final image)
  • 20MP sensor
  • 6k photo mode
  • Two memory card slots
  • New joystick (see leaked picture)

Panasonic G9 Will Most Likely Launch Before The End Of The Year

Photorumors has been following the latest Panasonic rumors closely and cites public leaks in addition to private sources that Panasonic should be releasing a Panasonic G9 before the end of the year.

It will have the same photo quality and photo functions like the GH5. It will not have the same video options. It will have a second display on the top like DSLR cameras. I don’t know whether the top display will be LCD or OLED. The new camera is rumored to cost around €1,200 (around $1,400).

While the price point is a little disappointing some of the specs make it sound very Olympus OM-D EM1 Mark II like. We will have to wait and see if the Panasonic G9 is seen as a value similar to the Panasonic GH5, but the price inflation that has been occurring with m43 cameras is incredibly disappointing. m43 is supposed to offer significantly more performance per dollar than APS-C cameras. Panasonic should revisit their philosophy from when the Panasonic GF1 launched.

Lightroom Classic CC 7.0.1, Lightroom 6.13, and ACR 10 Released With Olympus OM-D EM-10 Mark III Support Plus Adobe Apology and Reinstall Lightroom 6

Adobe is jumping to add camera support and clean up the public relations nightmare that is Lightroom CC, but at least they added the Olympus OM-D EM-10 Mark III to Lightroom 6 and 7 even after saying the D850 would be the last camera they added to Lightroom 6.

New Camera Support

  • Olympus OM-D EM-10 Mark III

Adobe screwed up pretty badly early in the week by auto-updating photographer to Lightroom CC Classic and they are trying to walk it back a little with their latest update, but it’s still not addressing the more serious issues. Hopefully camera profile updates continue while things are sorted out.

We understand we sent perpetual customers down a path of subscribing to a trial version of the new Lightroom Classic CC last week, replacing already installed versions of Lightroom 6.

The good news is we fixed this issue and wanted to get a quick release out to immediately address your concerns.  Now once you click on the “Update” button next to Lightroom Classic CC, you will see under the Advanced Options, the “Remove old versions” is unchecked by default.  As a result, you can try out Lightroom Classic CC for the trial period and still keep Lightroom 6 running in tandem on your desktop.

We sincerely apologize for not providing a better user experience for our perpetual customers to try out Lightroom Classic CC while still keeping Lightroom 6 in place.  This was a mistake on our end.  Please let us know if you are experiencing any additional issues with this process moving forward.

If you already deleted Lightroom 6 there is a solution

How can I download Lightroom 6 if it’s already been removed in the process of downloading Lightroom CC Classic before this release?

Please follow the steps referenced under “Reinstall Lightroom 6.

What happens if I attempt to update all apps that I am subscribed to?
