Olympus FY Ended Mar. 31, 2018: Growth and Strong OM-D Sales


Consolidated revenue in the Imaging Business amounted to ¥30,569 million (up 7.2% year on year), while operating profit amounted to ¥1,618 million (compared with an operating loss of ¥1,352 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year). In the mirrorless camera field, sales increased as the Olympus Group maintained steady sales of the flagship mirrorless camera “OM-D E-M1 Mark II,” introduced in the previous fiscal year, leading revenue in the Imaging Business to rise year on year. The Imaging Business returned to profitability after having recorded an operating loss in the same period of the previous fiscal year due to progress made in pushing down expenses.
