New: OM System x Millet wearable shoulder photo pocket II released in Japan

A new OM System x Millet wearable shoulder photo pocket II was released in Japan (check for Amazon pre-orders):

OM SYSTEM x MILLET Original Wearable Shoulder Photo Pocket II

Developed in collaboration with leading French alpine brand Millet (Millet Mountain Group Japan: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Per Rasmussen), the new “OM SYSTEM x MILLET Original Wearable Shoulder Photo Pocket II”
is a product designed for outdoor photography, combining the knowledge and technology of both brands. Previously, changing lenses required lowering the backpack to the ground to access the lens, a hassle on mountain trails with poor footing. By attaching this to the backpack’s shoulder harness, photographers can carry their photography gear, including lenses and batteries, on the front of their body for quick access without having to take off the backpack. While retaining the concept of the original model, the capacity of the upper and lower pockets has been increased by approximately 10%. Furthermore, the upper pocket features a double mesh structure for improved durability, and additional fastening tape provides added stability when attached.

1. Instant access to essential gear without taking off your backpack

When shooting while mountain climbing or hiking, you have to take off your backpack every time you want to change lenses, which can be a big burden on uneven ground. The “Wearable Shoulder Photo Pocket II” attaches to the shoulder harness of your backpack and allows you to carry interchangeable lenses and accessories on the front of your body. This allows you to quickly access the equipment you need without having to interrupt your shooting flow, so you won’t miss the decisive moment.

2. Even easier to use, reflecting feedback from the field

Based on user feedback from the first model, we have reviewed the ease of use in the field. The openings of the upper and lower pockets have been enlarged to make it easier to take lenses in and out when storing them. The upper pocket now has a double mesh structure, making it more durable for repeated use. In addition, the addition of fixing tape has improved stability when attached. This model has evolved so that you can concentrate on shooting with peace of mind, even in harsh outdoor environments.
– Enlarged upper and lower pocket openings (upper pocket +2cm / lower pocket +1cm)
– Double mesh structure for increased strength (upper pocket)
– Added strap fixing tape for improved attachment stability

3. Five-pocket design that takes into consideration the flow of photographs

To make outdoor photography more comfortable, the bag is equipped with five pockets that can be used for different purposes. The storage design takes into account shooting flow, allowing quick access to essential items.
– Upper stretch mesh pockets (left and right) with drawcords: For storing interchangeable lenses and 500ml bottles.
– Lower stretch mesh pockets (left and right) with drawcords: For storing small interchangeable lenses and camera accessories.
– Zippered pocket (back left): For storing small items such as keys, batteries, and remote controls.

4. Fits easily into your everyday backpack.
Equipped with five convenient pockets to support outdoor photography. The drawcord securely fastens the bag to your backpack, ensuring a comfortable fit even during active movements.

The simple attachment mechanism secures the pocket to the shoulder harness via two hooks at the top and bottom. The pocket length can be adjusted using the top and bottom straps, allowing for an optimal fit to suit the size and shape of your backpack. Three elastic drawcords securely fasten the pocket to the backpack’s shoulder harness. No special tools or modifications are required, making it easy to attach to a variety of backpacks. Its versatility allows you to expand your photography style while still utilizing your usual backpack. Note:
Attachment may not be possible if the backpack does not have a stabilizer strap or handle, or depending on the specifications of the shoulder harness base.
