The Panasonic GX80/GX85 are great cameras for photographers, but now they might find some usefulness for cinematographers willing to go through the trouble to perform this hack. The reader that sent this in warned that this is less than ideal and obviously it can be risky.

Hopefully, Panasonic will implement these features in a future firmware update now that they have been fully exposed, but if not maybe we can hope for a hacked firmware to emerge. Either way, chances are good that this process will be made easier in the future.
