Camera Jabber interviewed Shigemi from Olympus and he elaborated a little on their sad press conference. Below are some key points:
- Still 100% behind m43
- The size and weight of m43 is easily distinguishable for Full Frame
- Full frame vs m43 makes the whole size advantage an easier sell
- Everyone is making a big deal about mount size, well m43’s mount is twice the size needed for the sensor
- Olympus is working on longer telephoto lenses
- Olympus want’s to further reduce the need for tripods
- Using current technology the cameras and lenses would have to get bigger for better IS, but Olympus believes they will surpass the limitations
- They will have a major announcement for Photokina 2019 in May next year.
