Panasonic GH5 Tech Demo Videos

Panasonic released an interesting series of demo videos showing off the Panasonic GH5. The first (above) shows how DFD can predict the direction and distance of the train in motion. The second (below) shows how well Panasonic’s new 5 axis dual IS system works.

The final video discusses how the Panasonic GH5 has improved heat dissipation.

Tracking focus is the big problem – Panasonic really needs to implement Phase Detect into their sensors or Dual Pixel tech – if they stick with their DFD and Contrast they are doomed – so far they have been very stubborn and said their DFD was good enough – now Canon and Sony and Fuji and Olympus all have implemented Phase or DPAF in their latest cameras – Fuji and Sony have resisted for a while when it comes to Touch LCD – but they are converting –
I just have a feeling that Panasonic will continue to resist Phase AF – I is clear that their DFD is No match for Phase or DPAP when it comes to tracking –
Panasonic have fantastic features in their cameras – their weakness is big time tracking focus –
