The Insta360 Z ONE (also called Z1 or Z One) is an upcoming/rumored Micro Four Thirds mirrorless camera – Insta360’s first interchangeable-lens camera. Here is what we know so far:
- Sleek, compact white body with “Z ONE” branding on the top plate (plus “XA INSIDE” markings)
- Large fully articulating flip-up touchscreen
- Physical control dials (including aperture and exposure compensation wheels) and a front command dial
- Compact, modern, minimalist, lightweight form factor with no prominent grip bulge or EVF
- Dual microphones and what appear to be significant internal heat sinks (strong video performance hint)
- Sensor: 20MP Micro Four Thirds (5280 × 3956 pixels resolution) – reports point to a Sony IMX472 sensor
- Lens mount: Active MFT mount, expected to be fully compatible with existing Olympus and Panasonic MFT lenses (autofocus and electronic aperture control)
- Video Performance: heavy emphasis here. Large heat sinks suggest high-frame-rate capabilities (rumors include strong 4K/120p or better performance without overheating)
- Insta360’s signature FlowState digital stabilization is expected (IBIS combination unconfirmed but possible)
- Insta360’s AI-powered image/video processing and editing tools
- Hybrid stills + cinematic video focus
- Timeline: Later in 2026 (fall or Q3/Q4 speculated), no firm date yet
- Price speculation: body-only in the $599-$799 range, positioned as an aggressive, accessible entry into the MFT mirrorless space
