The Panasonic Lumix G9II Deliver Extremely Accurate Colors w/ the Leica 15mm F/1.7 Summilux

Leica 15mm DG Summilux F/1.7 Lens. Shot at ISO 100 F/3.5 1/640

One of the very first tests I do with a camera is to see how it renders color. I set the Panasonic Lumix G9II up for high quality .jpg to put it to the test.

This camera absolutely exceeded my expectations in it’s color accuracy. It also does a beautiful job on the clouds.

Just a few quick notes: I’m already loving this lens. As a rangefinder enthusiast, the aperture ring on this lens makes me feel right at home. It truly enhances the experience of shooting with Leica glass, thanks to the lens paint used for the apertures, focal length, and more. One thing to watch out for is accidentally bumping the AF/MF switch. Once you’re aware of it, it won’t be a problem.

I’ll be breaking down the review of this system and its lenses into sections. Later, there will be a comprehensive review featuring a collection of photographs that resonate with me, and hopefully with you too. I’m not just capturing sample photos; I aim to create portfolio-worthy work and challenge myself as a photographer. Each photo will be a clickable link to view the full-sized image on our Flickr page. Once all the photos are ready, they will be organized into an album so the community can easily explore image samples taken with these lenses under different lighting conditions and apertures.
