Sharp Joins in the Micro Four Thirds System Standard Group

Olympus Corporation and Panasonic Corporation jointly announced the Micro Four Thirds System standard in 2008 and have since been working together to promote the standard. We are pleased to announce that Sharp Corporation has recently declared their support for the Micro Four Thirds System standard and will be introducing products compliant with the standard.

As the driving force behind 8K imaging technology and a product developer, Sharp Corporation now supports the Micro Four Thirds standard. In the future, Sharp will add Micro Four Thirds products to their line-up. The possibilities unique to a joint standard will expand the enjoyment of imaging further.

As the company responsible for initiating both the Four Thirds System and the Micro Four Thirds System standards, Olympus will continue to develop and enhance the product line-up to meet the diverse needs of our customers.

Photons to Photos: Panasonic S1R First Full Frame Camera to Surpasses Fujifilm GFX50S Max PDR

The Panasonic S1R has become the first Full Frame camera to surpass the max PDR of the Fujifilm GFX50S in Photons to Photos testing, which is surprising considering the Sony a7RIII and Nikon Z7 results. Especially since the S1R most likely uses the same sensor as the Z7 and D850. If you’re interested in manipulating the results above you can do so here.

DPRTV Black Magic: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K is a very versatile camera and it’s the tool that DPRTV decided to use for their latest Wooden Niccolls.

Wooden Niccolls’ is a series of episodes in which Chris and Jordan bring together a film crew to recreate a scene from a Hollywood movie, all while also testing a piece of gear. In their first Wooden Niccolls episode for DPReview TV, their crew used the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (BMPCC 4K) to recreate a scene from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

But wait – there’s more! You’ll also go behind the scenes to learn how the episode was shot, meet members of the crew, and even learn some trick you’ll need to know to rig this camera. Of course, the most important question is whether Chris will win an Oscar for his portrayal of Kate Winslet in a dramatic role. Does anyone want to start a social media campaign?

Finally, if there’s a movie episode you’d like to see our dynamic duo create, mention it in the comments!
