The Micro Four Thirds Alliance Continues to Grow

I have owned m43 cameras on and off again since they launched and one of the biggest selling points for me initially was their desire to build a large open alliance. Today the m43 alliance started by Panasonic and Olympus grows by 3 more companies approaching a total of 35 companies. Agrowing, Qtechnology, and INNIYA Co., Ltd. are now members of the alliance. You can see the translated press release below:

“Olympus Corporation and Panasonic Corporation announced on February 15 that three companies newly agreed to the Micro Four Thirds System standard.

Three companies, including Agrowing, which develops remote sensing products, Qtechnology which develops professional cameras corresponding to various spectroscopic bands, and INNIYA Co., Ltd., a super wide-angle fisheye lens, joined as a newly approved company.

The Micro Four Thirds System Standard is a system that realizes a lens interchangeable mirrorless camera jointly announced by Olympus and Panasonic in 2008. A total of 35 companies, including the three companies, agreed.”
